“Unless Jesus Christ remains our first love, we’ll always be looking to a mere human to meet the deepest needs in our hearts, and we’ll always be disappointed because they are needs that only God can satisfy.”
~Leslie Ludy.
I close my eyes and I see your face
If home’s where my heart is then I’m out of place
Lord, won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow
I’ve never been more homesick than now
Be very careful about who you allow to speak into your heart. You must filter the things that you hear & KNOW who you are in Christ. If you don’t— people that are confused about their own life will create your identity for you.
For example some of us don’t worship Jesus, we just worship what He said,
Got theology in your head, but in our heart, poor, pitiful, naked, and dead.
He is the fulfillment of my desires…
The only one who can truly satisfy the thirst of my soul, the one and true lover of my heart…
I don’t need to look someplace else, or experiment with different things or people. My satisfactions in life does not depend on my earthly successes or accomplishments. My heart is not placed in anybody’s hands nor my future relays on this ever changing life.
He is my security.
Yes, I am in love with Jesus and that is a choice I make everyday. It’s not based on feelings, my mood or the circumstances. He loved me first while I was dead in my sin. If anybody thinks I could give Him less than this, then you better check yourself :)
Waiting on God requires the willingness to bear uncertainty, to carry within oneself the unanswered question, lifting the heart to God about it whenever it intrudes upon one’s thoughts.
— Elisabeth Elliot
You know what the Bible says? :
“The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?” - Jeremiah 17:9.
Feelings can deceive us, in fact that’s what they do all the time, because we are of a sinful nature. Our desire is inclined to evil… it’ll always be, Thats why Jesus told us to die to ourselves and carry our cross. We’ll be struggling with our sinful nature until we die to be with Him, he promised to complete the work in us, but we need to let the Holy Spirit work in us, we need to be willing to grow, and that can hurt, you know, I heard this one and is very true, for the seed to become a fruitful plant, it has to burst, break, die. That’s us right there ….
”Days will come when you don’t have the strength
And all you hear is you’re not worth anything
Wondering if you ever could be loved
And if they truly saw your heart
They’d see too much…..
Praying that you have the heart to fight
‘Cause you are more than what is hurting you tonight
For all the lies you’ve held inside so long
But they are nothing in the shadow of the cross”
